Chapter 566 - v3c339p1
That slash was an outcome of the Ultimate Realm’s power, the golden flames all over the sky were as if it brought the hot Elemental Realm to the battlefield’s sky. There were not even 10 people in Ultimate Realm under the entire jurisdiction of the Holy Cathedral of Fire. Each had their own legendary experiences just like the Earth Sword Saint Darius. And no one would proclaim that they were strong enough to bear one strike from them.
Not even Brendel.
But out of a sudden, it stopped midway. Countless Lines of Laws split the raindrops apart, only to be blocked by a white screen that conjured out of nowhere, too fast for any human to perceive it. To them, it was mere fireworks that spread open like a golden chrysanthemum blooming in the rain.
Then the flames dissipated.
For the Laws of Flame and Sublimation to disappear like that, there could only be one reason: it overcame by someone of a higher realm or by a stronger Elemental Power. However, that was the law of the Ultimate Realm, the final realm for the Fire Elemental Power.
Is it the Power of Belief?
Everyone was stunned. But only Brendel knew what was going on.
Amongst all the Laws in Vaunte, the Planeswalker’s system was ranked one of the strongest. No matter how bizarre the descriptions on the Cards of Fates were, those effects would be administered.
The Anrolda’s Divine Ring could render and attack useless once. It does not matter how powerful the attacks are, even if they are powerful enough to destroy the world, Brendel would be unharmed as long as the Card was activated.
It was the strongest shield. And before we mention the others, even Brendel himself was surprised by that power.
But Brendel did not stop, he took the opportunity to summon four Nightmare Forges onto the field when William’s guards were down. These Nightmare Forges broke out of the ground like metallic beetles the size of a human head. These beings at the peak of Iron Rank were not significant beings. However, they had the overpowered ability to replicate themselves by absorbing Light Elements.
With the Light Elements bursting out of Brendel’s hands and injecting into the Nightmare Forges, their numbers quickly grew to thirty two of them.
Brendel’s Element Pool had increased along with his levels: Fire Element 78 Points; Wind Element 51 Points; Earth Element 55 Points; Water Element 48 Points; Light Element 50 Points; Dark Element 30 Points. However, his Nature Element Pool still remained unopened. In the previous battle, he was cautious about using his Planewalker’s ability; he only used a little over 40 Earth Element Points and 1 Wind Element Point to summon the Holy Sword and the Wind Spirit Spiders. He summoned the Grimoire of Life for free by disCarding the Sea Wave Gem. This gem and the Eternal Orb had always been on the battlefield, meaning Brendel’s other Element Pools were still full.
He used up 4 Dark Element Points to summon the four Nightmare Forges. And he emptied his Light Element Pool to multiply their numbers.
For the next round of multiplication, he needed 32 Light Elemental Points.
The multiplication from four to eight, then to sixteen, and finally to thirty-two, finally caught William’s attention. How can that weird colony of the metal beetles had expanded so quickly! He had mistaken Brendel for a summoner and paid attention to the strengths of his summons. But as he observed carefully he realized that these Nightmare Forges were just at peak Iron rank. He let out a sigh of relief and turned his attention back onto the two huge Grimoires of Life next to Brendel.
The two glowing Grimoires of Life floated silently looking purposeless. But as Brendel released the Nightmare Forges onto the battlefield, the Grimoires of Life started flipping their pages. They did it until the fourth page. Each time a page was flipped, some sort of divine power would be exuded and diffused across the battlefield.
It was a gentle wave, and it healed any of Brendel’s men that passed through it. By the time the light wave covered the entire battlefield, even the lost limbs were regenerated!
Ciel used a magical shield to rescue Medissa from a Paladin in the air, but in the next moment Andrea got stabbed in her stomach by a female Paladin so hard it almost broke her waist. The Vampire Princess released a shriek in pain as she fell from the skies, blacked out. But it was at this second the gentle white light phased through her body and the wound was healed. A few more pulses of light later, she managed to open her eyes.
She halted in the air.
But surprisingly, the fatigue from those battles were gone and in fact, she was full of vigor, as if she had slept for couple of hours before.
What a miracle!
At that moment, everyone had one thought. Even the noble’s men thought an envoy was under the God of Life was fighting alongside them. Just imaging how much their morale was boosted as they did not have to worry about their injuries anymore. Their cheers broke out like a tsunami in the princess’s army.
In relation to the Northern Coalition Army’s low morale, the morale of the princess’s army was greatly boosted. If it was not for the powerful soldiers of the Holy Cathedral of Fire above them, the nobles’ armies might have already retreated.
William frowned and ordered his men, “Stop that summoner! Don’t let him summon those two artifacts anymore!” It was a little embarrassing for him to admit it, but when William broke his own limit with that slash just now, he was very drained. Although he did not have any trouble with protecting himself, breaking through Black Tower Mage’s defense and attacking Brendel seemed impossible.
He only could order the remaining eleven Paladins to attack Brendel simultaneously.
Ciel, Medissa, Ropar, and Andrea immediately sensed danger. The eleven Paladins of the Holy Cathedral of Fire were powerful experts in the Elemental Activation realm after all. However, in reality, they were really exhausted and there was no way they could have managed to strike Brendel.
“Brendel,” Ciel reminded Brendel while forming a Time Dilation Wall with his Time Elemental Power.
“I know,” Brendel replied.
He when he threw out another Card, his hand gleamed with a flash of red light and a bright flame burst from the forest. “Infernal Hell Djinn!” William looked at the monster from the flames and immediately gave a silent prayer to Martha. Actually, Brendel only summoned a Fire Djinn. However, under the effects of the Golden Battle Flag, it was buffed to a more hellish looking Djinn. It looked similar to the Fire Djinn but it was much bigger with dark scorching hellfire hovering under the usual golden flames.
The main point was that it was able to self-destruct.
As a higher-up of the Holy Cathedral of Fire, the Paladins were obviously no strangers to the Fire Element. They were also familiar with the special characteristics of the creatures in the other plane. And because of that, as soon as this huge flame monster appeared in their field of vision, everyone’s faces turned white.
It was a calamity at peak Gold rank.
But it was obviously too late to retreat.
Everyone could feel the sky seemed to turn slightly dark. But it was just an optical illusion due to the contraction of the pupils against the bright light of the flames.[TL: ..... So we’re talking biology now?] Everything dimmed as a small speck of bright flame arose from the forest.
Then the scorching heat of the explosion swept across the ground. The heatwave was so hot it evaporated all the rain that came in contact with it.
The eleven Paladins who were at that scene were definitely affected. Two of them sustained injuries when that happened where one of them even had his breastplate and shoulder guards melted in the heat while his face was inflicted with burns. This forced the others to retreat, and their formation finally broke down.
What irritated them more was that right after the Infernal Hell Djinn was gone Grimoire of Life resonated again and healed the injuries on Ciel, Medissa, Ropar, and Andrea.
How are we supposed to fight this battle? they thought.
Brendel summoned the Furnace of Adversity at this moment. Echelonius’s Furnace of Adversity was the Paradise of Adversity’s third Card with the cost of 30 EP. He used 30 of his Wind Element Points. Including the cost for summoning the Fire Djinn, Brendel’s Element Pool of Fire and Wind had decreased respectively to 63/78 and 20/51.
The Echelonius Furnace of Adversity had to be attached to a Land Card when it comes to plays, and Brendel happened to have the Ember Volcano Card on him. When he attached this Card to the Furnace, a metallic building with a construction look to it appeared on top of the Ember Volcano. Of course, everything only happened in the Planewalker’s realm.
The Furnace of Adversity can be said as the generator of the Paradise of Adversity deck. Its main function was to sacrifice the Echelonius creatures to obtain a special resource– energy.
But Brendel did not have any Echelonius Soldiers at the moment, and he needed more time. Upon returning to reality, he threw out the third last Card.
The situation of the battlefield intensified; soldiers of the Northern Coalition Army and the Holy Cathedral of Fire could be seen at every corner of the valley. Duke Anthony’s army only took up a small part of the battlefield while the Nagas, students of the Royal Cavalry Academy, and the White Lion Battalion stood alongside one another to block the opponents from the main camp.
While the situation still remained precarious for Princess Gryphine and her allies, with the mighty power from the Grimoires of Life, they could still manage themselves. Eikkel whose mind was full of knighthood finally understood Brendel’s way of helping him.
He could not help himself shouting excitedly, “Mr. Knight, I didn’t know you were such an epic summoner!” It appeared that he misunderstood.
And Brendel’s next action made him regret his words instantly.
