Such an intense explosion attracted many people’s attention. Everyone left their rooms to see, as well as to talk amongst themselves to find out what had happened…
Amidst everyone’s discussions, flames suddenly soared into the sky in the distance. An intense explosion immediately followed after, causing all of the glass to shake. The fainthearted female guests were all so scared that they covered their ears and screamed.
Mr. Khalifa came out and stabilized the situation. He immediately sent a helicopter to check out the situation. When his men came back, they said that Naseer’s private island had turned into a sea of flames. They searched around but didn’t find anyone who had landed in the water and was seeking help.
Naseer was considered Mr. Khalifa’s neighbor. Mr. Khalifa knew that Naseer had offended quite a number of people, so he wasn’t surprised that something like that happened.
Mr. Khalifa was nice and helped call the police. This caused Little Lu to be increasingly worried. Fu Huai’an had yet to come back, and he had no idea if he was alright!
If the police were to encounter him on his way back, it wouldn’t be easy for him to explain himself!
Due to the explosion on Naseer’s private island, Mr. Khalifa had no choice but to end his party in advance. Many people left on either boats or planes!
Little Lu returned to the room and stared at the watch that Fu Huai’an had placed on the bedside table. Thirty minutes had passed, and the food was going to be delivered soon. He wondered if Fu Huai’an would be able to return in time!
Naseer’s private island exploded, and Little Lu was sure that Hans had already left. Although he wasn’t in that much of a hurry to have Fu Huai’an come back, if Fu Huai’an didn’t come back on time, Little Lu would inevitably still feel worried about his safety.
“Thud thud thud—”
Hearing the knocking at the door, Little Lu frowned. He settled his emotions before saying, “Come in…”
A lady brought in wontons, together with xiaolongbaos and a few side dishes. Little Lu expressed his thanks and took the food from her.
The bathroom door suddenly opened. Little Lu turned and saw Fu Huai’an walking out of the bathroom. He was wearing bathrobes and had a towel hung around his neck while he dried his hair.
“Sir, the supper is here!” Little Lu put it down on the coffee table. “Do you want to have supper first or dry your hair first?”
“Sir, if you don’t have any other instructions, then I’ll be going first!” the maid said gently.
Fu Huai’an gave a courteous nod.
After the maid left, Little Lu looked toward Fu Huai’an. He saw blood flowing down Fu Huai’an’s lower leg and said in a soft voice, “Sir…”
Fu Huai’an pursed his thin lips tightly, throwing down the towel without saying a word. He walked back to the bathroom, placed the phone face-down on the sink, and removed the bathrobe…
Under Fu Huai’an’s bathrobe, his thigh was wrapped up in cloth strips torn from clothes. They were soaked in blood. After the cloth strips were removed, there was a visible scar on his thigh, and blood was oozing out.
“Sir!” Little Lu seemed very anxious.
Fu Huai’an bandaged the wound tightly and said to Little Lu, “Go tell Mr. Khalifa that my wife isn’t feeling well and that I have to return immediately!”
Little Lu nodded and left the bathroom.
When Mr. Khalifa heard that Fu Huai’an’s wife wasn’t feeling well and that he wanted to return, he wasn’t surprised. After all, the explosion on Naseer’s private island had already caused several people to bid him farewell and leave his private island. It wasn’t a surprise that Fu Huai’an wanted to leave.
Therefore, regardless of whether Fu Huai’an’s reason was true or not, Mr. Khalifa would let him leave.
When Fu Huai’an put on his clothes and went to express his apologies to Mr. Khalifa, he still had his usual calm and indifferent appearance. No one could tell that he was injured, which put Little Lu’s mind at ease.
Mr. Khalifa arranged for a helicopter to send Fu Huai’an back to the hotel and sincerely gave his well-wishes for Fu Huai’an and Lin Nuan to have a blissful life. He hoped that there would be chances for him and Fu Huai’an to work together in the future.
After Fu Huai’an expressed his thanks, he got onto the helicopter. On the way, blood oozed out, but it wasn’t obvious on his black trousers. Regardless, Little Lu, who was seated beside Fu Huai’an, was still very nervous.
When they arrived back at the hotel, Fu Huai’an cleaned his wound and bandaged it once again, sewing it up with a skin stapler. After his wound was taken care of, he let Little Lu pack up for them to leave!
Since they said that Mrs. Fu wasn’t feeling well and that Fu Huai’an wanted to return to his country, they had to pretend to be anxious.
Only after everything had been packed up and they were about to leave did Little Lu ask Fu Huai’an, “Then, Mr. Qin…”
“He’ll stay in Dubai!”
Fu Huai’an didn’t explain much, and Little Lu didn’t ask either.
It took seven hours to fly from Dubai to their country, and it took an additional hour to go from the airport to the Fu residence.
Fu Huai’an contemplated the time. By the time he arrived home, it would be about 11 am, and Lin Nuan should already be up.
He looked at the photo of Lin Nuan sleeping that was on his phone, and his lips curled up. He couldn’t wait to see her surprised expression when she saw him.
…
Lin Nuan slept very soundly, seeming to be in a stupor yet unable to wake up. Her mind was filled with all sorts of crazy dreams.
She opened her eyes with her mind in a whirl. The sunlight had shone down on the bed, and she subconsciously reached for her phone. She took a look and saw that it was already 10:10 am.
Lin Nuan put down the phone and struggled to get up with her brows furrowed deeply. However, her body suddenly froze up as she looked toward her phone…
When she woke up just now, she saw that her phone screen was black!
Her heart rose to her throat, and she immediately sat up. Lin Nuan propped herself up with her injured arm, ignoring the intense pain she was feeling. She was worried that Fu Huai’an had cut off the line with her and had gone to get involved in danger.
Lin Nuan tapped open her phone and saw that Fu Huai’an had hung up the video call with her at about 2 am.
The bathroom door suddenly opened, and Lin Nuan looked over in fright. She saw Fu Huai’an walking out, dressed in his home clothes.
Lin Nuan was stunned… She thought that she was dreaming and simply sat on the bed in a daze.
Fu Huai’an walked up to the bed and casually tossed his dirty clothes onto the foot of the bed. His hands rested next to the two sides of Lin Nuan’s body, and he put his forehead against hers. He said in a deep voice, smiling, “Have you turned silly?”
The familiar scent, familiar heat, familiar man…
Lin Nuan’s slender and fair hand stroked Fu Huai’an’s face. The realistic feeling was something that she couldn’t get from a dream!
Lin Nuan’s heart softened. There was a hint of surprise in her eyes, which had turned red. She ignored the pain in her arm and hugged Fu Huai’an’s neck tightly. Her voice was like that of a kitten’s purr, making one intoxicated. “Weren’t you… only coming back tonight?”
“En!” Fu Huai’an put one hand around Lin Nuan’s slender waist and smiled. “I missed you!”
Upon hearing that, Lin Nuan’s heart felt so sweet that it was as if it was soaked in honey. She bit down on her lower lip and restrained her smile as she hugged Fu Huai’an even tighter. “I missed you more!”
Fu Huai’an didn’t childishly bicker with Lin Nuan about who missed who more. He just kissed her head. Everything was fine as long as she was happy!
“The family doctor is already here. After you get up and have breakfast, let her take a look at you. We’ll then make a trip to the private hospital and get you a good checkup…” Fu Huai’an said in a soft voice.
